At present there are 200 cases in the world is believed to spontaneous combustion, but this phenomenon has no scientific basis trusted.

The mysterious story of SHC cases are often very strange happened. But they are dispersed away without explicit reference to the source of the flame, or ignition sources nearby can burn people. Moreover, the victims are often killed by fire burnt in the hands or feet, while others are often burnt in the chest or abdomen.

A century ago, it was believed that most victims can SHC drunk and saturated yeast cells caused the fire. By 1970 a number of people based on Freud's theory is to explain SHC man suffering from depression lead to fire. And the other point of view is that the sunspots, cosmic storms, intestinal bacteria, gases or even the volume of energy the body can self-ignite.

All of the above explanation is only pseudo-science and there is no convincing evidence. Actual bodies of the human body is 60-70% water can not be ignited. If someone really caught fire when near the fire source does not have the SHC victims occurred while swimming or diving instead. But in no case should such exist.

After thorough investigation exposes the false claims SHC. Not at SHC victims burnt clothes and belongings as well as the surrounding environment. In terms of forensic fire to say that the fire is completely possible due to household items such as carpets, beds, sofa caught fire from spreading to the rest of the room and kill the victim.

So far there are about 10 cases each SHC declared to be studied in detail. According to researcher Joe Nickell analyzed in the book "Real-Life X-Files" that all such cases no mystery as they say. Most of the victims were elderly, living alone near the fire (usually cigarettes, candles, and open fire) when they die. Some have been seen for the last time while drinking and smoking.

If the person is asleep, sick or can not walk, then their clothes can act as a wick. Most people wear clothes containing flammable substances such as cotton, polyester fiber in a long time. When the fat out of your body with clothing combination skin will form a highly flammable fuels near the fire.

There are also a number of people were declared to be confused with the SHC due to Stevens-Johnson syndrome. In severe cases, this syndrome can cause skin diseases in response to a number of main and analgesic drugs, causing severe burns and blisters can cause death to the victim.

If SHC is a real phenomenon, why it does not happen often and dissemination of billions of people worldwide. Even cases of SHC also believe that no one can see or record it but usually only occurs when near the fire source. If there is a natural mechanism, why it did not occur in other animals such as cow, dog, elephant birds.

Although there is no scientific evidence, SHC still exists and it is usually concluded when the authorities can not find a solution. In 2011, a coroner concluded that Michael Faherty, a solitary Irishman, was burned to death in his home on May 12/2010, possibly due to spontaneous combustion. But the real body Faherty was found dead near the fireplace right there.
