Am I dying......nurse??

Posted on at

I am a nurse and I used to work in a hospital. One morning my while doing my regular rounds to see and check each patient activities. I have noticed a 50 years old female sitting on her bed and dangling her feet down. And when I greeted her, good morning, she looked at me and I saw tears drops fallen from her eyes. She immediately wiped off her tears and acted that she was doing good. I came closer to her and tapped her shoulder and I asked her if there was something wrong? If there was any pain she felt at that moment?

But definitely, she answered me. No, no..... I'm okay, I don't feel any pain with my body. I asked her again? Why I have seen you crying silently? Would you like us to discuss it? She nodded  her head and suddenly she embraced me. And she asked me  this question. Nurse  am I dying?  What shall I do? I don't  want yet to die. Please help me. At first, I didn't expect that she asked me that question.  I took deep breathing, and told her to follow all the instructions of her oncologist and above all, she should pray to God and trust Him heartedly.

Actually, this patient was suffering from stage 3 breast cancer. I have a question to you guys. When somebody ask you if she is going to die soon. What will be your answer?
