Android 5 Lollipop Nexus 7

More Lollipop update news!

If you’ve been waiting for Android 5.0 Lollipop for your Nexus 7 tablet, we have good news for you. ASUS PH has officially announced that the update for Google’s latest version of its Android OS is now available to download to Nexus 7 tablets in the PH. This includes both versions of the Nexus 7 (the 2013 version and its predecessor).

Along with the requisite Android 5.0 update, the new OTA also includes the Bluetooth Smart feature that the company says extends the battery life of the Nexus 7 when scanning for and pairing with nearby devices. The new update also gives owners an option of using the “personal unlocking” feature that recognizes different locations as safe zones (or nearby trusted, paired devices) that automatically unlocks the device to speed up use.

Unfortunately, only the WiFi version is included in this update – 3G and LTE models will have to wait until Decemver to get theirs.
