Aqsa Waseem first ever ACCA gold medalist in the world

For the very first time, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) held its award ceremony. The good news for Pakistan is, Aqsa Waseem , has got highest combined marks in ACCA’s final professional level examinations held in June 2012. She didn’t even topped from Pakistan but also from all over the world.

ACCA Chief Executive Helen Brand awarded a gold medal to Aqsa Waseem for her outstanding performance in examinations. Shehzad Yousaf, a qualified member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), has also got a gold medal for his contributions to accountancy profession.
The ACCA Chief Executive said that Shehzad Yousuf had not only achieved a great deal in the field of accountancy but always strived to ensure that others also got opportunity to excel in the profession.
That was 1997 when Pakistan opened its first ever ACCA office, at that time only 97 students were excelled for ACCA. In 2013, the number of ACCA students has been increased to approximately 40,000.
Chief executive ACCA said, “The growing demand for ACCA qualification in Pakistan has led to opening of more offices in the country; we are present in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi,”
Yet again, this is big achievement for Pakistan, in 2013. These two have made Pakistan proud again. Many congratulations to Aqsa Waseem for her highest marks in the world in ACCA’s final professional level examinations. She is the first Pakistani ACCA student to win the gold medal.
