BLOG #140: Lessons from the Bamboo and the Rice

Posted on at

Have you noticed that a bamboo bows down when it reached its highest peak?  That a rice stalk bends when it is full of grain?

God really wants us to take lessons from nature.  He wants us to be observant and apply those good lessons we grasped from nature.  Take the bamboo for example.  Do you know that it takes five years for a bamboo before it grows?  With proper care and nurturing, the bamboo takes roots, building a strong foundation before it starts to grow.  When it grows, it shoots straight up and then bends.  When storms come, it sways and does no break because it has a strong foundation.

The rice on the other hand when it grows, it grows straight up but also bends when its stalks are full of grains.

In life, we need to be nurtured and cared properly.  We need to be fed with good knowledge and true education.  When we are at its highest glory, we should humble ourselves and not boast.  Spread and share the knowledge instead that we have so we can be a blessing to others.
