Efficiency and effectiveness are the words which are used interchangeably in
organization. Efficiency means the producing goods and services at higher value in same usage
of resources as they produced earlier, here resources are time, money or cost. In other terms
the efficiency means doing things rightly. As organizations like to achieve greater profit by
lower input for that purpose they mainly look at the cost of business and how to produce more
from same output. In this regard the organization does not take care of quality of product
which gives them loss most of the time like as an motor cycle company produces twenty motor
cycle firstly and in next they try to use efficiency to produce twenty five motor cycles from
same input then the product quality may get some loss. Technology may be a factor which
helps in doing efficiency and neglecting its negative impact on product quality. While on
other hand effectiveness means managers work in order to achieve the organizational goals
within given period of time rightly. In effectiveness management makes strategies, plans,
lead the organization and finally control the whole strategies. Effectiveness is for long term
where organization has to go through different processes such taking care of time, and target
achievement.
