Dante's Inferno is New York City! - Film Annex News

From left to right: Rubbish by Amy Allen, Alex Budovsky (filmmaker), Paige Howe from Red Notice, the web series Meet Alex Budovsky, a Russian producer who relocated to New York in the mid 1990's. Shortly after graduating from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he began producing animated music videos for British Musician Stephen Coates (The Real), also known as the Clerknwell Kid. Most of Budovsky’s award winning productions has been animated films, music videos and even commercial ads. We recommend Middle Class Hell, an animated short that shows his creative work with original drawings by Jim Avigon. Inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘The Inferno,’ the Film Annex team created Red Notice, its first original web series. Though not a literal adaptation, Red Notice explores the relationship between Dante and Virgil in a modern setting and creates a world of sin in the heart of Gotham. Throughout the series, our two main characters, Margot (Paige Howe) and Vicky (Lillian Rodriguez) see the dark side of New York City that only night crawlers and adventure seekers get to see. After all, New York City is closest to the home of the seven deadly sins. Check out our first episode and let us know what you think! Do you have a grumpy old man in your family or life? Don't be afraid to say yes. We must admit that the small things in life easily bother some elderly people. Our featured film this week is Rubbish by filmmaker Amy Allen, demonstrating this exact nuisance. A lonely old grouch is easily irritated when he bumps into one of his neighbors. After days and months of a horrible provoked temper, the lonely grouch finally discovers the person responsible for his sour mood.
