The credit card company Chase and the debt collection company Asset Acceptance took me to court for 2 years. I attended court every other month at one point. I WON both cases, and the U.S. government proved Chase was signing 'bot accounts', which led to the largest credit card fraud lawsuit ever filed. Dealing with a debt collector is a degrading experience many people endure on a daily basis. Credit card debt collectors often cause stress and anguish, sometimes manipulating the law in the process. Debt collectors utilize tactics NOT endorsed or enforced by any court of law. Credit card fraud is a crime that is out of control. Laws that guarantee a fair legal outcome protect every person accused of owing credit card debt. Debt collectors typically act unchallenged because most people who allegedly owe money do not understand the laws to effectively deal with debt collectors.
