Demonetisation: United Opposition calls for Bharat Bandh on November 28

A united Opposition on Wednesday called for a nationwide Bharat Bandh on November 28 taking their protest on demonetisation, a step ahead. Around 13 Opposition parties have come together and have decided to strengthen their agitation against currency ban. Earlier today, more than 200 MPs came together to protest against the ban on Rs 500 and 1,000 and raise slogans near Gandhi statue near the Parliament in New Delhi. Among the protesters included leaders of the Trinamool Congress, Congress and BSP.

A united opposition on Wednesday continued to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence and absence inside the house. There has a been growing demand by a united Opposition for him to speak on the demonetisation issue in the Parliament. Thirteen opposition parties, baring the Left and the Aam Aadmi Party, raised slogans at Parliament’s Gandhi Statue demanding answers on demonetisation.
