I expect that you have often heard people saying `every cloud has a silver lining`, this is an expression that I hear from time to time.
I used to think that the person saying it was talking about the clouds in the sky and I could not see how clouds could be silver when they are mostly white or grey.
However when I got older I realised that the saying meant that when something bad happens , something good should come out of it. I do not really agree with this saying because often really bad things can happen with nothing at all good to come out after.
