Everything Must Go

The saying goes "waste not, want not" and it's a sentiment that artist and designer Alex Noble has put to good use with the launch of EMG (short for Everything Must Go).

"We approached a range of designers whose collections heavily feature print and surface decoration," explains Noble of the idea, which sees EMG scoop up the designers' leftovers and turn them into something new and unique, before selling the pieces off to raise funds and awareness for a variety of charities

"Salvage Ts" are the first phase of the initiative, with TRAID and Childhope charities benefitting from the reimagined designer wares - which, bright and bold, are perfect for summer fun.

"For Salvage Ts we approached designers we admire -such as Giles Deacon - as well as old and new friends like Alex Mattson, Markus Lupfer, Ashley Williams and Martine Rose. It was also a great opportunity to start a dialogue with long-term heroes like Basso & Brooke and Zandra Rhodes," adds Noble. The upshot is that you can swipe yourself a T-shirt hybrid that could have a Markus Lupfer sleeve with a Louise Gray body and a Richard Sorger applique neckline - democratic fashion indeed.
