Neymar's third Cup brace means he is now the team's leading scorer in the Cup this season.

  • Neymar’s brace against Villarreal was his third in this season’s Cup competition and helped take him to 41 goals for the team, passing Romario and Maradona on the all-time goalscorers list
  • In all, Neymar has scored two or more goals in six games this season – against Villarreal, Athletic Club Bilbao (2-0), Granada (6-0), Elche (5-0 in the Cup and  0-6 in the league) and  Atlètico Madrid in the Cup (2-3).
  • With six goals, Neymar is the team’s leading scorer in the Cup, followed by Pedro (5), Iniesta and Messi (3) and Luis Suárez, Adriano and Sergi Roberto (2).
  • Wednesday’s was the team’s eighth away win on the run, going back to January, during which time they have beaten Elche, Atlètico Madrid and Villarrealin the Cup, Deportivo, Elche, Athletic Club Bilbao and Granada in the league and Manchester City in the Champions League.
  • Before Barça put three past them on Wednesday, Villarreal had conceded just a single goal in their previous 10 games at El Madrigal  - and that was a penalty from ex-Barça man Jonathan Soriano  in the 2-1 win over Salzburg.
  • For the first time since 1926, Barça have won every game in the Cup this season.
  • The meeting between FC Barcelona and Athletic Club Bilbao will be the eighth time the two have met in the final, with Barça having won five of them.
  • Luis Suárez scored his fourth goal in three games – his best run so far in a Barça shirt.
  • Gerard Piqué was again the team’s leading tackler, winning possession back on 14 occasions, ahead of Jordi Alba with seven.
