Film Annex Launches Haiti Emergency Web TV to Support Global Medical Relief Fund in its efforts to Help the Child Victims of the Haiti Earthquake NEW YORK, February 19 , 2010 – Film Annex, an online film distribution company and web television network, in collaboration with anchor Tom Osborne and Ambassador Muhamed “mo” Sacirbey, has launched Haiti Emergency Web TV (www.haitiemergency.com) in order to help the child victims of the Haiti earthquake. This web channel will inform viewers of the latest updates on the Haiti earthquake and the efforts to immediately save lives and secure recovery. The broadcasted videos are created using footage from several sources, including the United Nations projecting direct events on the ground, narration and analysis, as well as relevant interviews. Global Medical Relief Fund ("GMRF") will be the direct beneficiary of Haiti Emergency Web TV as the generated advertising revenues will go toward the healing and rehabilitation of child victims of Haiti in particular. From Bosnia and Iraq to Indonesia, and now Haiti, GMRF has been providing medical and rehabilitative assistance to child victims of war and natural disaster for more than a dozen years. Rather than seeing child victims as future wards of society, it is GMRF's goal to empower these children to become contributors to society. In search of the help they need, these young children also become symbolic of the much larger group on the road to self-sufficiency. With the support of GMRF, the child victims of the Haiti earthquake will have the opportunity to become strong contributors to our global community. A portion of this support will be sustained through the monthly revenues generated on the Haiti Emergency Web TV. A month after the tragedy in Haiti, emergency medical and humanitarian aid is still needed on a daily basis. In this context, in addition to broadcasting up-to-date video reports from the aftermath of the earthquake, Haiti Emergency Web TV brings viewers into the discussions and debates that will determine the course of helping Haiti and its people. As Haiti is one of the poorer countries in the world, much of what its people need is not within the reach of its meager current capacity. However, the people of Haiti are resilient, industrious, and independent. With its unbiased reports and insightful commentary, Haiti Emergency Web TV will provide support to the Haitian people and empower those who want to help the victims of the earthquake. From children and education to infrastructure and economy, anchor and narrator Tom Osborne and analyst Ambassador Muhamed ‘mo” Sacirbey provide further insight into the view from the United Nations and the role of the international community in providing emergency relief to the country. The viewers who visit www.haitiemergency.com will not only be able to participate in the ongoing discussions about the aftermath of the earthquake, but also contribute to the financial aid the Web TV will be providing to GMRF and GMRF to the child victims of the earthquake.
