Synopsis: 10:30 p.m. A car is burning in the parking lot of the Projects. This solitary act is the result of a series of events that connect a number of people: A single mother with alcoholic tendencies, an ambitious political candidate, a recent college graduate, and a ghetto youth with no scruples. All of them are deeply affected by this criminal act that leads to a serious clash between the youths and the police forces, leading to devastating consequences.

FEATURED FILMMAKER: JEN GATIEN (DEERJEN FILMS)

Founded by producer Jen Gatien, DeerJen is a film production company based in New York that is committed to producing challenging, independent films and television projects that give otherwise silenced voices a chance to be heard. Jen Gatien’s past productions include Shampoo Horns, 1 Giant Leap, and Hounddog, starring leading actresses Dakota Fanning and Robin Wright Penn. As a longtime resident of the Chelsea Hotel, Gatien also produced the documentary Chelsea on The Rocks directed by Abel Ferrara.

Gatien’s current projects include an adaptation of an AM Homes novel, the documentary ‘Evolution of a Criminal’ in collaboration with Spike Lee, and the film ‘Holy Rollers’ starring Justin Bartha, Jesse Eisenberg, and Q-Tip slated for a release in 2010. Gatien is currently working with Rakontur (“Cocaine Cowboys”) on a feature documentary to be completed by the end of this year.
