Film Annex News

Posted on at

Hello everyone,

We're saying goodbye to May with some great news!

The New HD Button

Film Annex is now offering HD quality on its Web TVs as well as its main platform! From now on, you'll be seeing a button right between the "full screen" and the "audio" icons on the lower right hand side of the player: SD (288p) and HD (720P). This button will be on the player for all the films uploaded in HD format.

This means: If you have HD versions of the films you uploaded on Film Annex in the past, you can now upload them to give your films the quality they deserve.

Please keep in mind that the HD button is available on your full-length videos, and will not be available on the auto-extracted excerpts or trailers.

New Abel Ferrara Short

This week, we bring to you a rare short film by Abel Ferrara. Watch Nicky's Film in B&W (Silent, 1971).

You can also watch two other short films by Ferrara by visiting his Web TV.

Watch The Hold Up (B&W, 1973)

Watch Could This Be Love (Color, 1974)

Surprise Short Film Launch

On June 1st, we'll be showing a short film (official first-time release on the web!) by two talented filmmakers who have been presenting their videos on Film Annex. We're not disclosing the name of the film and the filmmakers until then, but we're inviting you to check out our homepage on Tuesday, June 1st to see this short film for the first time on the world wide web!

Have a great weekend and stay tuned,

The Film Annex Team
