After consecutive losses to California, South Alabama and Penn State, San Diego State bounced back last week to beat Fresno State, 21-7, to open conference play. The Aztecs held the Bulldogs to just 89 total yards, the lowest in a game between two FBS teams this season. San Diego State also got its running game back on track, with two players surpassing the 100-yard mark. RB Donnel Pumphrey carried the ball 23 times for 124 yards and a touchdown and after he went down with an injury, backup Chase Price recorded a career-high 151 yards on 27 attempts.

The Rainbow Warriors are looking to forget about last week’s 55-0 drubbing from Boise State. The loss marked the second-straight game in which Hawaii was shutout and the third time this season (1966 was the last time that happened). A win against the Aztecs on Saturday would pull the Rainbow Warriors to an even .500 on the season; it would the first time Hawaii hit that mark since 2011.

If Hawaii is to pull out a victory, they’re going to have to keep San Diego State out of the red zone, as the Aztecs are a perfect 8-for-8 in red zone trips this season. San Diego State is one of just six teams nationally, and the only team in the Mountain West Conference, that has posted points in every red zone opportunity in 2015.
