Friday Mass at Quiapo for the Black Nazarene

Posted on at

I woke up early as it is Friday. I will hear mass at Quiapo, a church, a minor basilica in Manila where the famous miraculous Black Nazarene was housed. I went on the road at exactly 7:45 a.m. and was able to reach the Quiapo Church at 8:30 a.m. The church is overflowing with devotees and I could not get in the church right away. I have to wait for the previous mass to finish before I could get in.

Inside, I tried hard to get in the middle near the long bench so I can sit but it took me around 30 minutes before I could sit. The mass is half way through when I was able to sit. The priest gave a sermon and was beautifully explained the conception of Jesus Christ by Mary. How and why was she chosen. It was great to hear it.Then after the communion took place and I was able to receive communion too. I felt good, and was able to complete the mass.

I put in a sort of a tithe for the donation and there were two donations this day. the first one I suppose was for the church and the second donation would be for the coming of the Pope in January 2015. It was a great day as I was able to hear this mass and receive communion which I have planned the other day that I shall be doing this day. I will feel unhappy if I am not able to do this today.

Thank God for this beautiful day.
