HERBAL BLESSINGS : ESSENTIAL OILS

A must for every day life, essential oils are everywhere, these are natural aromatic compounds that comes from plants, flowers, leaves, roots, stems and bark. They provide us healthy solutions for common aches, pains and daily stress.

These essential oils from fruits, flowers, seeds or plant extracts are known for their aromatic and uplifting properties. They carry vast range of benefits from being medicinal, therapeutic and cosmetic uses. 

GINGER ROOT OIL. Researches had already proven that its anti-inflammatory effects can be attributed to the substance named zingibain which is present in it. Ginger root are like "natural antibiotics" analgesic in nature that reduces common pains such as muscles aches, arthritis, rheumatic conditions, headaches, and migraines. Ginger oil or ginger paste are often topically used by massaging on the aching body parts and can remove muscles strain. It is believed that  regular use of ginger extracts helps reduces production of prostaglandins, a fatty acid compounds associated with pain. Ginger root oil can be considered as "natural pain relievers" as well. In fact few Chinese researchers have discovered that ginger root extracts can be very effective in treating inflammation of the testicles.

ORANGE ESSENTIAL OIL. Or citrus sinensis extract can also provide quick and effective relief from inflammation, whether internal or external. Orange essential oil can also reduce irritation caused mostly through excessive intake of spices, and provides relief for fever, infections, side effects and antibiotics, gas ingestion of toxic substances, or narcotics.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL.  Lavender (lavandula angustifolia) essential oil also a popular anxiolytic aromatheraphy, is also as an excellent remedy for any types of pains such as muscular aches, rheumatism and sprains, a relief for headaches and lumbago. It also provide relief from pain in joints by regularly massaging the affected area.

A study done on postoperative pain relief showed that combining lavender essential oil vapor into the oxygen significantly reduces the amount of pain experiences versus those patients only revived with oxygen after major surgery. (Source : organicfacts.net )

ROSEMARY ESSENTIAL OIL. Rosemary or rosmarinus officinalis, do have wide array of uses aside from being a culinary herb through its leaves, cosmetic care, and have known throughout history as being used by ancient Egyptians as incense, to being medicinal in nature. Like any other types of essential oil, rosemary are found to be helpful in treating headaches, muscle pains, sprains, joint aches,  rheumatism and even arthritis because of its anti-inflammatory properties that can be attributed to it. For rheumatism, it could offer a very effective relief by mixing rosemary oil with vapor baths. Furthermore, it helps to stimulate blood circulation and also aid coagulation of wounds for faster healing.

TEA TREE ESSENTIAL OIL. A Tea tree with its botanical name Melaleuca alternifolia is native to Southeast Queensland and New South Wales, in Australia, that's why it has been a popularly known essential oil in that country. So many health benefits can be attributed to this type of essential oil such as anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antimicrobial, antibacterial, balsamic, stimulant and sudorific substance . Those kinds of properties are good source in providing relief from muscular pain, aches and sprains. It stimulates blood circulation that speeds up healing process and tissue and cellular growth.

EUCALYPTUS ESSENTIAL OIL. Is another type of an essential oil which is also anti-inflammatory in nature that helps in relieving stress and pain by putting some adequate amount on the surface of the skin by massaging in circular motion on the affected area of the body. Eucalyptus oil are recommended for patients who suffer from rheumatism, lumbago, sprained ligaments and tendons, stiff muscle aches, fibrosis and even nerve pain.

MORINGA OIL. Comes from the extracts of Moringa OIlifeira leaves or locally known here in the Philippines as "malunggay",  moringa extracts health benefits includes helping maintain healthy bones because of the presence of essential minerals like phosphorus and calcium. Moringa extracts possess anti-inflammatory properties and are effective in treatment of painful conditions such as arthritis, while also helping to heal various bone ailments such as mandibular or jaw bone fracture.

ARGAN OIL. Often called as “liquid gold”, that comes from the organic compound extracted from the kernels of the argan tree, which is native of Morocco. Argan oil is a popular cosmectic choice for many celebrities, rich and famous for it is extremely rich in beneficial nutrients like fatty acids and vitamin E that is good for the hair and skin. 

OLIVE OIL. Olive oil is known for great source of four major antioxidants like Vitamin A, Vitamin E, polyphenols and phytosterols. Vitamin E which is known for its anti-aging benefits is an antioxidant mostly present in olive oil that can help restore skin elasticity. They are good skin protectors and moisturizers, for hair and nails if added to your beauty routines.

WHEAT GERM OIL. Using wheat germ oil may provide immense benefits such as providing you a healthy skin as it prevents many skin problems like eczema, psoriasis and dry skin by applying it externally onto skin. It also contains vitamin E oil, which is a good source of antioxidant for providing you healthy glowing skin.

SUNFLOWER SEED OIL. Its nutritious composition makes it one of the healthiest oils for consumption as well as application on the skin and hair. The main component of sunflower oil is linoleic acid while the rest includes oleic acid and palmitic acid. In addition to these, it contains lecithin, carotenoids, tocopherols and appreciable quantities of vitamins A, D and E.

SWEET ALMOND OIL. Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamin E, A, B1, B2 and B6 which are ideal and effective moisturizer for dry and irritated skin because of its moisturizing qualities, it effectively balances the moisture in the skin. Once applied onto skin, it can easily be absorbed thus it won't leave the skin sticky, oily or even block the pores.

ALOE VERA EXTRACT OIL. Studies revealed that Aloe vera extracts are helpful on curing various skin problems and allergies like blisters and insect bites, and some skin diseases such as eczema, psoriaris, itchy skin and other allergic reactions because of its anti-allergic properties.

JOJOBA OIL. An essential oil that is effective and gentle skin-softening moisturizer for all skin types. A natural emollient that can easily be absorbed by the skin once applied so it doesn't leave skin feeling sticky or oily.

ROSEHIP OIL. Like many essential oils, rosehip oil can also boasts a range of beauty benefits from your hair down to your skin and nails. Adding rosehip oil regularly to your skin care routine will bring you you awesome results. Some of the many benefits you can get by using this oil are skin rejuvenation, pigment reduction, improved complexion and moisture retention.

GRAPESEED EXTRACT. One of the great benefits that could be derived from grape seed extracts is that it promotes healthy blood circulation because it also contains polyphenols, a compound that is high in antioxidants which helps protect cells from free radical damage. Compared with Vitamins A (beta carotene) C and E, grape seed extracts stays longer in the body once taken.
