I Have An Awesome Research Mentor!

Posted on at

My University has an Office of Research and Creative Activities that help professors apply for grants, seek necessary permission(s) for their work and abide by research ethics. This office also gives students the opportunity to write grant proposals and apply for $1500 towards a mentored research or learning experience. I decided to put one in to further my work with my research mentor. I finished my drafts several days before the deadline and emailed them to him for him to look over for me. He replied with a very encouraging email with a few minor suggestions within 5 minutes, and I had sent the email at midnight! Last night at midnight, when the student submissions were due, all mentors who had students get their applications in on time got an email asking for his/her recommendation. They're due a week from today. I got an email at 4:33 this afternoon saying my mentor had already gotten it submitted for me and everything was good to go!! Talk about a great mentor!!!! Now to wait until the middle of February to hear if I got the grant or not!!
