IDEX 2014 cohort

On my first day at the Golden Palms resort I met a very great group of individuals and with each day I met more fellows as they arrived in Bangalore. My first roommate is from Texas and worked in the consulting field in the US. She is north Indian and has been very informative on the Indian culture sharing her experiences in India. I met Adam from Warsaw and Arham from New Delhi after seeing their Facebook post that they were having drinks drinks. I also met Francesca who is from the states and it turns out we had the same flight from Doha to Bangalore. Below is a picture of my former roommate Arjita and my current roommate Nisha who is from Pune. They are both awesome. Very passionate about what they do. Nisha is very lively and is my workout buddy for the remainder of our stay at Golden Palms. We walk the jogging track and today hit the gym. Tomorrow is the same plan but will include the sauna if time permits. Everyone is very active and health conscious. Maria Christina and Cecilia are two of the liveliest people I have ever met. Maria Christina is from Ecuador and on our first meeting she was very bubbly and full of energy even after just finishing up a morning job. Cecilia is from Kenya. She is bursting with passion and dreams. These two ladies are my inspiration to pinpoint what it is that will fill me with such energy and passion. Cecilia sees the potential of her country and wants to work to ensure that Kenya meets/exceeds that potential. Sagar is very into design innovation in the social sector and has been keeping up with education, women's issues and sustainability in organizations. Aman is a very interesting individual having lived in so many countries. Rae is a recent graduate who sees the world as everyone being on the same level. Everyone working to raise the standard of living and lifting people up instead of giving handouts just to feel better about yourself. Christopher is the team photographer who gets great shots and always has the camera on hand when we are in the city documenting orientation. He is very passionate about revising the way schools operate to make schools fun and engaging students in using textbook knowledge and applying them to the real world. It is a small world, one of the fellows is an AmeriCorps NCCC North Central Region class 16a alum. We did the same program 2 years apart and met up in India. Poami and Anessa are two very grounded individuals. (apologies for possible misspelling of.  names) They both have lived in various USA states. Anessa is very down to earth and very holistic
