Kanyakumari is end of Indian subcontinent. It is situated in the south part of India in the state of Tamil Nadu. There are only few places of world where you can see the sunrise and sunset sitting from the very same place and Kanyakumari is one of them. Kanyakumari is a great centre for art and religion. It was also an area of trade and commerce. The architectural beauty of the temples in the area is the works of its rulers.

A significant part of population study and speak Malayalam as their mother tongue. The traditions followed by Kanyakumari people are mixed and has more influence from Travancore. Beside of being a tourist site Kanyakumari is also a pilgrimage. Thousands of pilgrim visit this place in the year. Legends say that Kanya Devi was suppose to marry Lord Shiva but he failed to show up at the marriage day. Kanya Devi, which is now considered as a Virgin Goddess, blesses all the pilgrims and tourists. Other than Kanya Devi temple there is also a Nagaraja (Serpent King) temple. There is also a statue of Thiruvalluvar Tamil poet and philosopher measuring about 133 feet. Tour to Kanyakumari will be a good experience of life.
