Kate Middleton recycles brocade coat at Hillsborough Castle garden party in Northern Ireland

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today proved that they were anything but work shy as they attended official engagements together just hours - and a sea - apart.

After visiting the US Embassy in London's Grosvenor Square to meet Ambassador Matthew Barzun and pay their respects to the victims of the slaughter in Florida by signing a book of condolence, the duo jetted to County Down to join First Minister Arlene and a host of dignitaries at Hillsborough Castle.

Kate and William were bathed in glorious sunshine at the annual garden party which is always attended by a senior member of the Royal Family. And Kate picked an old favourite from her wardrobe for the occasion - a ten-year-old cream brocade coat that she first wore to Laura Parker Bowles' wedding to Harry Lopes in 2006.
