In the year 1980, a hilarious movie directed by the ace director of the past era, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, was released by the name “Khoobsurat” starring the “Umaro Jaan” herself, Rekha. On the Filmfare awards which took place on 1981, Khoobsurat won the best movie award and Rekha got the Filmfare best actress award. After 34 long years, in this year, another movie is being released by the same name, which is produced by the ‘other’ Kapoor family of Bollywood industry - Anil Kapoor, his daughter Rhea Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The directed of this ‘Khoobsurat’ movie is Shashanka Ghosh.

The present day Khubsoorat was known as “Disney’s Khoobsurat’ as this movie is distributed by Walt Disney Pictures along with UTV Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor films company. Though the name Khubsoorat matches with the 1980 Rekha movie but rumors were heard that the story on which 2014 Khoobsurat is based on is the 2001 released Hollywood movie “The Princess Diaries” starring Anna Hathaway. Soon after this rumor was around, the team and cast of Disney’s Khoobsurat clarified that it was the remake of the previous movie “Khoobsurat” which was a huge hit in the year 1980. Disney’s Khoobsurat is all set to be released all around the world on the 19th of September, 2014.

The cast of Disney’s Khoobsurat comprises of “Aisha” actress Sonam Kapoor, playing the lead character of Dr. Milli Chakravarty and the male lead role is played by none other than the hot newcomer of the Bollywood industry Fawad Afzal Khan who is playing Vikram Rathore in this movie. The other two main characters of this movie are veteran performers Kirron Kher acting the role of Manju Chakravarty whereas the role of Nirmala Devi Rathore is played by Ratna Pathak. Disney’s Khoobsurat also has Prosenjit Chatterjee along with Aamir Raza Hussain and Aditi Rao Hydari in this fun filled, romantic comedy movie.
