Lake Caliraya or Caliraya Lake is located in the province of Laguna, Philippines. It is a man-made lake created by a US Army Engineer in 1937 in order to generate hydroelectric power for Metro Manila and nearby towns. Interestingly, the lake which is situated in the municipal towns of Lumban, Cavinti and Kalayaan, all in the province o Laguna has become the Bass Fishing capital of the Philippines, a tourist destinations and a wind surfing haven.
