LG Unveils 5.5-inch Display with 0.7mm Bezels, Will This Be Used With the G4?

LG Bezels (2)

LG’s new display has really narrow bezels

A display with a thick bezel isn’t the nicest thing to look at, at least that’s what LG thinks, as evidenced by the narrow bezels on their current flagship, the G3. But even the G3 can’t hold a candle to the company’s newest (and nicest) display yet, which sport ridiculously thing 0.7mm bezels, which is less than the thickness of your credit card.

LG Bezels

The Korean company is able to achieve via their Neo Edge module processing and advanced in-cell technology, which basically just means that the panel’s circuit board and backlight are glued together, and not taped which is usually the case. The touch panel is now embedded in the LCD module as well, which is bad news for people who like to fix their own broken displays. The new displays are also water and dustproof, which makes us wonder if LG’s cooking up their own water resistant smartphone. It’s also plausible that these new panels are being prepared for LG’s next flagship, the G4. If it is, there’s also a big chance that it just may well be a water-resistant flagship. One can only hope.
