Every one wants security in his/her life . We use different means to secure our self , Same as in case of computer we need security for our files that we don’t want any one to use . So how to lock a folder in our computer without any 3rd party program?

Codemink here comes with a solution by which you don’t have to use any kind of external software for the security of folder. Instead of using a software we will use a windows trick, it is windows inbuilt property by which we will disguise any folder to windows component by using command prompt.

In this we will convert folder to compenents like, my computer , recycle bin etc .

Steps involved to change folder into computer component are :

1.Select the folder and keep all your important files and folders in it and remember the path as shown below:

2. Open command prompt and change the path to the respective drive where the required folder is present.

3. After changing the path of the folder you just have to type very simple command which will let you covert your folder to computer component .

the trick behind this is CLSID (window class identifiers) of  Microsoft windows,  like the CLSID of My computer is {20d04fe0-3aea-1069-a2d8-08002b30309d}

4. After executing the above command the clectures folder will look like My Computer icon and will act like My computer of microsoft windows operating system.

5. Once the folder is converted to windows components, They act like one of them, here above clectures folder will act like my computer in operating system untill and unless we reconvert it to its original state .

To reconvert clectures folder to its original state we again have to use same command  with little alterations as shown below :

this will give you your folder clectures with its original data in it .
