Looking at my street.

It just started raining, with hail! The leaves are as green as new grass. The air is as clean as it gets. We have blackberry blooms. So it must be blackberry winter. Honeysuckle is blooming in Tennessee. Is beautiful. "Chicken shit" bushes are blooming! They perfume all the outdoors. All the leaves are on the trees now. Is just the beginning of May.

It is time to plant tomatoes. No more cutting worms...

Lightening bugs will be out soon. They are the cutting worms. They are worms that wrap around the stems of tomato plants and cut them off at the ground. Then they transform in to fireflies. As children, we used to catch them and put them in jars to see the amazing things they shone.

Next will be the June Bugs. When we were children we tied thread to a leg and they were a toy to us. Seems brutal now. We didn't know. We do now. At least, those who know about nature.

We need help to keep these things in cycle.  Is the way things are. I remember all the things I was taught about the next cycle. Were you taught?

Homecoming is this month. That's also called decoration. It's when we take time to dress graves with flowers in Tennessee and remember our loved ones who are gone. We have a "Sunday Go To Church" to remember how much we love and miss them. I have a few there. It seems to be a time to see people you rarely see and smile and know they hurt, too. We remember them and put up with each other to let their souls know we miss them and will never forget them. They live in the heart.
