Manchester United manager labelled the speculation over his transfer budget "disgusting" and "disrespectful", but the club continues to be linked with a host of expensive stars.
According to the Independent, United are keen to add Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels, Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin and Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte in the summer, all of whom have been linked with the club over the past few weeks. A move for all three centre-backs would cost around £100m.
A report by the Daily Star also claims that the club hierarchy want the existing squad and wage bill trimmed before any new arrivals come in, with Anderson, Nani and Anders Lindegaard all touted for an exit in the near future.
