Misbah slams critics

LAHORE: Misbah ul Haq regretted that he was the subject of criticism from some former players despite being Pakistan’s top scorer in the World Cup.

“I will be held responsible even if players don’t perform in the future,” Misbah said while appearing in SAMAA’s current affairs show “Nadeem Malik Live” today.

He said that a section of media and former players made unfair and filthy comments on him. "There are a few formers cricketers who always pick on me, maybe it’s because of a channel"

To a question about his defensive approach, he said that he had no option, if he got out at 40th over the whole team got out by 45th. Misbah also defended the exclusion of Yasir Shah from the playing eleven, saying that Australian conditions were not right for us to play him.

"Our biggest problem is to not have a genuine all rounder," he said, adding there was no suitable replacement for Abdul Razzaq and Azhar Mahmood.

To a question, he said that there was no comparison between Umar Akmal, Ahmad Shahzad and Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Misbah said that he was no sure how long he would play the Test cricket.

"For a cricketer there is nothing better than scoring a century," Misbah added
