Monkey D. Luffy, A pirate and the main protagonist of the anime and manga, One Piece.

Also called "Straw Hat Luffy", because of his trademark Straw Hat, which has lent to him by his friend Red-haired Shanks.

Luffy is the son of the Revolutionary Army's commander, Monkey D. Dragon,and the grandson of a Vice Admiral of the Marines, Monkey D. Garp, Luffy has two recognized brother, Ace and Sabo

His dream is to become the Pirate King. He believes that being Pirate King means one has the most freedom in the world.

He possesses the power of Gomu Gomu No Mi(Gum Gum Fruit). As of now, Luffy is sailing the seas together with his 8 crew, named Zoro, Nami, Ussop, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky and Brook.

Luffy is known for causing trouble, wherever he goes, and is known for challenging The World Government after causing an incident in Enies Lobby, He also assaulted a World Noble at Sabaody Archipelago, and escape the world's most secured prison, Impel down.

His current bounty is 400 million beli, and is one of the "Supernovas", The eleven rookie pirates with bounties over 100 million beli to have reached the Red Line.
