National Egg Nog Day

Posted on at

Today, December 24th, is National Egg Nog Day.

It may be egg nog month all through December, but Christmas Eve, December 24th, is also Egg Nog Day.

For a drink that is quite commonly associated with Christmas, this is a good day to have it.

As well as possibly originated in East Anglia in the UK, it may have also been derived from the posset, a spiced curdled hot milk drink that was used for a variety of things, often medicinal (with probably little effect).

To make your own, you would mix milk, sugar, raw eggs and spices together. Nutmeg is the most common spice used.
