New comic forsees the Oracle

Posted on at

A comic entitled 'Foreseer's Contract' give us our first peak of the soon to be introduced hero Nerif, the Oracle! The first day of what seems to be a multi-day update has only given us this comic, featuring an interaction between Oracle and Phantom Assassin, but it certainly seems telling of what is to come. Find out about Oracle and what the future holds inside.

Oracle is one of the last heroes from DotA 1 still waiting to be ported into the game, but it seems we won't have to wait much longer to get our hands on the enigmatic wizard. The lovely comics that accompanied his reveal give us a nice feel for the hero, and pub players might be as confused as Phantom Assassin is in the comics, because he seems like quite a handful to deal with.

The comic comes under the title Foreseer's Contract, and is apparently Day 1 of this update, so there is certainly more to come from Valve. The DOTA 2 Blog post says to 'come back next week to learn more', but whether this is just about Oracle or other surprises is currently unknown.

The hero itself comes equipped with 4 active spells, which can combo together to keep carries alive, to help win manfights between carries, and to nuke down enemies when used together well. So it seems like he'll be fairly complicated and intense to play and require a lot of thought.

Being a new hero, he has also received lots of complaints of being OP from the community due to his great versatility and synergy between Fortune's End and Purifying Flames, so it's possible he could be hit with the nerf hammer on his introduction to the game.
