New Tubigon Falls

Are you a thrill-seeker and planning to find a secluded place that's perfect for friends and family retreat? Look no more, there's one place I can recommend you that's very quiet where locals are very friendly and welcoming. This is like a small falls with clear, clean and pristine water. It is located in Barangay New Tubigon, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.  This is a part of Caraga Region in Mindanao.

IS IT SAFE TO GO THERE?

Some tourists are worried about going to Agusan del Sur because of these rebels called NPA (New People's Army)? But there's definitely no worries about that. They can't touch you or harm you. Besides, there is a soldier's camp nearby so it's safe. People are also hospitable and the smiles on their faces welcoming their guests are just awesome.

You might have been to some other popular places in Caraga like Tinuy-an Falls, Begaon Falls and many other but this one should be added to your travel list if you love nature and tranquility.

How to Get There

This place is approximately two hours away from Bayugan City Agusan del Sur. To get there, you have to ride a motorcycle because the roads aren't cemented yet. If you want a challenging ride, then this is what you're looking for!

If you don't have a motorcycle with you, then you can hire someone who has. There are many passenger motorcycles (habal-habal) that can take you there.

After the motorcycle ride, you will start walking for 3 km in a wetland. This is going to be very enjoyable if you're with friends. The picture shows me taking my first step through the wet rocky pathway.

This is also nice for those who want to get slim. Hiking can strengthen your legs, so why not?  Before you get to the falls and enjoy the water, you will pass through natural slides and rocky wet pathways. You can pause and sit on the rocks for a while, or maybe take a selfie.

You have to be careful because rocks are kinda slippery.  Although it's a long hike, you will get to enjoy the water while getting to your destination.

So here's the blue clear water you can enjoy.

So, we're finally here! Just bring foods with you if you wish to swim and enjoy the water longer. What are you waiting for? Come and explore Caraga!
