No OT Levels Required For Nicole Kidman's Success

A divorce followed by professional success and critical acclaim -- holding aloft a golden award, but feeling deeply lonely at the time. It sounds like something out of one of those Christian morality plays you read about, but it's actually just what Nicole Kidman experienced after her divorce from Scientology mascot Tom Cruise.

At the "Women in the World" summit in London, Nicole spoke about as candidly as she could. Her 2001 split from Cruise made headlines and certainly changed her life, but despite -- or perhaps because of how alone she felt -- it worked wonders for her career. There was something therapeutic, or at the very least distracting, for her as she poured herself into different roles.

We can see that, though the average person can probably better relate to delving into a book or television series or video game for a similar experience. "Living" someone else's life can distract you from your own problems. So long as you don't overdo it, it can be pretty healthy.

But still probably not as good for you, we imagine, as winning awards and separating yourself from the Church's posterboy. Despite the loneliness, we can only imagine the sense of relief.
