Observing the Artist!

Posted on at

My wonderful flat mate, Amy Hill is an amazing artist, and I get the pleasure of watching her paint in our flat... but I didn't want to be selfish & keep this all to myself... no, I wanted to bring this to the word also!

So, the next time Amy picked up her paints and canvas, I picked up the camera. i need to start feeling more comfortable with the camera, editing, and my own creativity anyway... so I thought this was a fantastic way to do this.

I tried to apply all the basic rules I already know, while adding my own ideas... and shooting for the edit!! Something I've learnt even more since shooting, is extremely important, not only in dramas, but in 'live' filming too`!

Here are a few sneak peaks of what is coming!:

When shooting, I wanted to experiment with shooting in 25FPS, but also 50FPS to see what I could do with a mixture of slo-mo and standard. Its proving difficult! But I want to get it edited in such a way where its my best yet!

Also, I already have improvements for the next film. My good friend Jack Tew has a motto:

Never put a shot not worth looking at, in the edit... and know this when your shooing!

I spent a lot of time trying to follow the action, but I didn't think about the edit... and the shots.

So stay tuned for the edit... and perhaps another to follow!
