The Originals is an American television series that began from a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries which centers around the Mikaelson siblings, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). The backdoor pilot, which aired on April 25, 2013, also revealed that the werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus's child and would, therefore, join the cast. The show begins with the original siblings returning to the city of New Orleans for the first time since 1919. Having originally built the city, they had been forced to flee from their vengeful father. In their absence, Klaus's protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), took charge of the city. Klaus resolves that they must take down Marcel and get back the city that once belonged to them. While doing that they must also protect everything that they have built from the war brewing between the vampires, werewolves and the witches.
This series became my favourite series of all. Niklaus Mikaelson is the center character in the series together with his siblings. Klaus, the first Hybrid, who hid his loneliness through cruelty, but became a bit more caring since he'll be a father. Elijah, the big brother who wishes and try hard for Klaus's redemption and sees the hope in the baby carrying by the wolf, Hayley. Rebekah, the sister who love both of her brothers, but the hate for the bad brother make her wants to find her own happiness. Three siblings who always stick together because of the same vow, Always and Forever.
Klaus came to New Orleans after he heard from Katherine that there's a witch named Jane-Anne Deveraux who plotted a move against him. But after he arrived, not only he found that his protégé, Marcel, who he thought has dead, is actually still alive, but also to learn that Marcel has bettered him and claim the city as his. Klaus meant to reclaim the city he and his siblings had built. But on the other side, the witches is using the wolf girl, Hayley, who carried his child to make a deal with the Originals. Elijah who sees the hope for Klaus to feel happiness, swore to protect the wolf girl and the child.
The first season is centered in the story of The Original siblings working together to take back the city and protect the miracle baby.
It is a recommended series. I love the series because the supernatural story and of course the hot actor, Joseph Morgan who played the role Niklaus Mikaelson. I don't know why, I just drawn to his bad boy character. He can be cruel, but when he do care for someone, he will protect that someone. He has been doing bad things to his siblings, but even then, he still loves them, just the way he's showing it is rather unusual.
