It is situated in Pakistan and located on Arabian sea.it was opened in 1857 .the administration of port is carried by Karachi port trust .it is owned by ministry of port and shipping and government of Pakistan.It is natural type of harbor .Its size is 32 km ( 20 mils).there are 30 Available berths and 8 wharf .It is the largest and most important economical hub of Pakistan.

Its complete name is Muhammad Bin Qasim Port.It is situated in karachi ,Pakistan .It is located at arabian sea.It was opened in 1980 and owned by ministry of ports and shipping and government of pakistan.It is artifitial type of harbor.Its land area is about 12,200acers .It contain 12 berths.A large amount of employees are deployed at port Qasim.The Present Chairman of Port Qasin is Agha Jan Akther.

In 1970's as a part of Prime Minister Zulafiqar Ali Bhutto economic reforms and establishment of heavy industries pakistan first steel mill was constructed as Pakistan Steel Mill.To export product that are obtained from Pakistan steel mill there is a need of port to explore the transportation to all over the world and at that time there was only single port which was port of karachi so this was a need of time to construct a new port and finally in 1980 port qasim was constructed.the reason of this name was given below;


This port was named as Port Muhammad bin Qasim (also known as Port Qasim), after the Muslim general Muhammad bin Qasim who conquered Daybul and the coastal areas of Sindh around 712 CE

It is situated on arabian sea at gwadar ,Blochistan.It was constructed in two phases first phase was from 2002 to 2006 and second one was started from 2007 till present.It is operated by China Overseas Port Holding Company.

The Western Alignment of CPEC is depicted by the red line. The 1,153 kilometre route will link the M1 Motorway near Islamabad with Gwadar Port. The Western Alignment will also connect to the Karakoram Highway, which is being rebuilt and overhauled as part of CPEC to provide improved access to Gilgit Baltistan and the Chinese region of Xinjiang.
