Afghanistan, with its location on the crossroads between many trade routes, the music tradition here has been greatly influenced by the different countries from the region such as the Arabs, Mongols, Indians, Persians, Chinese and many others, thus the Afghan music is the blend of all together with great addition from the ethnic groups such as the Pashtuns or Tajiks. The base for the singers is Kabul, Kandahar and Herat. With the music instruments such Rubab, Dombura and Ghichak many other instruments and famous musicians have contributed to Afghan music for centuries, during last century without any doubt this country has produced some great singers who have contributed and are contributing to Afghan music not only from different parts of Afghanistan but also from around the world.
