Social networking workshop and ganesh clay making workshop

Posted on at

us consulate general in Hyderabad hosted a workshop on social media in tgi friday. I thought I was late but I was right on time. I got a micro flash drive. The program was just starting when I got there. The first part was an interactive session. The majority Indian audience was asked how the consulate could improve social media reach.  One person suggested writing some posts in telugu and many wanted discussion groups. One ghanaian was present and he felt us was doing a better job of engaging compared to Ghana consulate.   The next speaker was an Indian blogger who works in communication.  She felt blogging is her medium that is unrestricted where where she can have have an impact. She talked about about when about when she blogged about her abuse. The second speaker was a guy In nonprofit space using social media. He spoke about the work work he does and how thanks to Facebook they were able to recruit a significant amount of volunteers.

Unfortunately I was unable to talk to any of the speakers afterwards.  I met the ghanaian and two Indians who had studied in Washington.  We exchanged contacts at the end and thanks to what's app app and viber we keep in touch. I offered to cook for the ghanaian since he has palm oil.  He lives far from me since he is studying at osmania university for his masters In computer science.

Ghac held a clay ganesh making workshop which was great. I got to banjara Hills an hour early so I went to gvk to have my first cream stone concepts experience in the food court. I would have taken a picture but the ice cream was so messy and I didn't have a table. I enjoyed a chocolava that came with a waffle bowl.

I opted to walk back to the event to feel better about myself after such a sinfully delicious treat. Autos kept stopping to offer me a ride and one even followed me for a few meters even offering a free ride. I was determined to walk of the ice cream. I got to the venue early and got sent somewhere else by an old guy. I walked for a bit then turned around and asked someone who i I had passed when sent away.

The workshop was held at the ghac base camp.  The Teacher Was A Kid In Class 6 Who Is Very talented. He spoke in telugu and others translated to English. It was a fun experience.  My ganesh didn't come out great but it's a good first attemp. It was nice nice not being the only foreigner and met some people.
