Delhi High Court on Thursday reserved its order of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Somnath Bharti’s anticipatory bail plea. The High Court directed the Delhi police not to take any action against Somnath Bharti till the court decides on the matter. “The High Court reserved order on my client’s (Somnath Bharti) anticipatory bail. Till then no coercive process can be taken by Delhi Police. He continues to have the interim protection, he cant be arrested,” said Vijay Agarwal, Somnath Bharti’s lawyer.

While arguing before a single judge bench of Delhi HC, Delhi Police strongly opposed the anticipatory bail application of Somnath Bharti, claiming that the former law minister has made mockery of law. Delhi Police counsel said, “He (S Bharti) went to police station at 2 am in night and also made application for cancellation of non-bailable warrant against him after getting protection from HC.” “Its not a simple case of dispute between husband and wife,” the counsel added.
