History of Esteqlal football club and its growth
Esteqlal FC has been established at the beginning of 2001 by Haji Hamayon. The club has started training with amateur players. They played in competitions in group C and, as they became better, started to be known in Afghanistan`s football. The team grew up step by step and went fC torom group B and later from B to A. They finally arrived in Premier League and won the group A cup in 2009. In 2010, the club took the 4th place in Premier League. In 2012, Haji Hamayon Sediqi, the club’s former owner sold 50% of his stocks and eventually all of it to Eng. Ebrahim Mahboob.
