Grim is an overused word that has become almost meaningless. More frequently than not, you are pitiful when you don’t feel the least bit apologetic, but you simply don’t know what else to read.

A guy who says sorry before and later on every sentence simply comes across as feeble

Don’t apologize for not experiencing something never told you. Don’t apologize if you have a contrasting view. Don’t apologize about doing something you want to get along. And, save all of those apologies for when you forget a particular function.
