Sunil Gavaskar : The Legend in Indian Cricket

Gavaskar needs no introduction in India. He was the asset of the Indian cricket team and he was a player who was ready to take on the world. He was gutsy, brave and a master in his own right. Sunil Gavaskar has many records on his name and he is a national hero to cricket fans of India. He was born on 10th July’1949. Gavaskar is known to change the face of Indian cricket. His heights was only 5’ 4” so he used to be called “Little Master”. In I980s he dominated Indian cricket and became famous for his meticulous approach as well as his distinctive headgear.

He was the first cricketer to make 10, 000 runs and he has a record of 34 test centuries and it is still stands untouched. The fact that Sunny went on to score 10,000 runs is a tribute to the man’s enormous talent. He was very concentrated to his batting and this was the key to his success.

Gavaskar made 221 run at the Oval in 1979 and it was one of the best innings ever played by any batsman. It was against England.
