TECHNICAL EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN

Education system in Pakistan needs many reforms. But the most serious defect is that the facilities for technical education are still very limited.

With the nuclear bomb blast, Pakistan has entered a new era. The importance of technical education has assumed greater importance. We are setting up big plants and factories. Huge dams and multi-purpose projects are being set up. We want to keep pace with the advanced countries of the west. The progress of a nation today depends on her industry and mechanized agriculture without which a solid economy will not be possible.

The tragedy is that the man in the street still does not know the meaning of technical education. It is necessary that technical should be introduced at gross root level. Institutions should be set up in villages and small towns as well. Admissions in these schools should not be made very difficult. Expenses should be kept to the minimum. Research facilities should also be increased. It will take time and money.

More institutions for technical education should be set up in different part of the country.  People should be told that technical education will enhance their economic stability and self-respect. Only then a country can make its mark in this technically oriented world.
