Hinatuan Enchanted River is a lagoon-river that can be found in the island of Mindanao, Philippines, particularly in Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The water flows into the Philippine Sea and into the Pacific Ocean. A diplomat named Modesto Farolan made a poem that described the river as “Rio Encantado”, and this brought life to the name “Enchanted River”. 
The "unreachable depth" of the underground cave
The color of the river is unusual, it has a dark blue in color just like a deep blue sea and a light blue green. This river has an underground cave and has been explored by Alex Santos in 1999. But the major exploration of the underground cave system started 11 years later by 3 cave divers led by Dr. Alfonso Amores, Bernil Gastardo and Emgee Guillermo. A caretaker named Felicisimo told us that no one has ever explored the depth of the cave and no single fish in the river has ever been caught. According to legend, fairies toss sapphire and jade to the river to make its shade distinct. He then added that we just have to respect the environment because fairies are protecting the river, when you respect them, they will respect you in return.

Mystic Fishes
At 12 noon, one of the resort staffs instructed all tourists to paddle back to the river banks.
Suddenly a bell rang, then followed by a hymn played from loud speakers. Out of nowhere, different types of fishes came out gobbling the raw tiny shrimps that the staffs of the resort threw.
An enchanting Fish
Any form of creatures that has a close encounter with humans suddenly get frightened. But this creature graced my friend's lens with a pose. Isn't it enchanting? Can fishes in the river be trained? Well, well, well...

When the hymn ended, the fishes suddenly disappeared. The feeding resumed at 3:00 pm, same thing goes, fishes appeared and gobbling then disappeared when the hymn ended. Well, mysteries are mysteries. Always left unsolved. As for me, I truly am enchanted with the magnificent beauty of the Enchanted River.
