WHAT IS LI-FI?

LI-FI is like a WI-FI that we commonly use to connect to the internet but LI-FI is 100x more faster than WI-FI.

LI-FI means (Light-Fidelity). Unlike WI-FI, LI-FI use LED lights to transmit data compare to wi-fi that uses radio waves.

Li-Fi has been tested in the real world, base on the LAB test earlier this year, Li-Fi reached 224 gigabits per second and that's huge, no one knows! maybe tomorrow this will change the use of the internet.

In year 2011, professor Harald Haas introduced his Li-Fi concept, and after four years, professor Haas is back with a working prototype of Li-Fi. 

 

The Li-Fi prototype relies on solar energy to power Internet connections. A LED light source paired with a solar panel becomes a fully functional transmitter and receiver system for high speed and secure data transfer. Instead of relying on hardwired cables or radio waves that are easily interrupted, Li-Fi uses the nearly undetectable flicker of an LED light to transmit data.

advantage of li-fi

- using this li-fi your speed connections are much faster than wifi. thru this technology you can download big files like hd movies in just a seconds. (as light and internet provider),less risk of loss of data,can be used in planes as it does not affect radio signals.

 

 

however, everything comes with a disadvantage. The major disadvantage of this Li-Fi technology is that its signals cannot penetrate walls. So if you want to move in other location make sure to have the light in that place. for example: you want to move to another room then the room must have its own light source for you to get use the li-fi.
