The Menace of Alcohol consumption in Aghanistan

Posted on at

Alcohol which is forbidden in Islam and the consumption of Alcohol is prohibited and punishable in the  constitution of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan.Alcohol consumption has risen rapudly after the arrival of foreign forces in Afghanistan and you can find it at a very local convenient store at will.

The menace of Alcohol consumption among the local Afghan,s are very high as every wedding ceremony or a private party ,you will see loads of alcohol being distributed among the guests which is becoming like a fashion statement for young Afghans. Most of the Afghan government and private firms officials are full time Alcoholics thats why no action has been taken so far to prevent its selling and usage.

There is no one stopping Nato and its allies to using Alcohol as hundred,s of trucks pass through different transit points to Afghanistan with food supplies ,Alcohol etc. There has been some people who have contacts with contractors working in nato bases in Afghanistan and they supply them with good quality Alcohol at cheap prices which is then distributed amongst the high class restaurents ,superstores and many other such places.I mean to say in a country where its prohibited and against our religion and you still find it easily anywhere in kabul is very strange.

There has been an incident in a lebanese restaurent in kabul where so many people lost their lives and the taliban claimed the responsibilty and further said that they were selling Alcohol thats why it was targeted. There should be a proper mechanism put in place for all the Restaurents, superstores or any other place that selling Alcohol in Afghanistan is a punishable deed and these people should be prosecuted if found guilty of selling Alcohol. Our young generation is unaware of the problems they will face in their future if they get to use Alcohol.

The government of Afghanistan ,the local police or any other authority need to have strict measures to prevent such illegal activities.I from this blog wants all my friends to raise their concerns amongst the local authorities to take concrete steps in preventing the menace from spreading and i pray for all my muslim brothers to stay away from such activities.
