The Writer & Critic Relationship

Posted on at

The gift of writing a book eludes a critic...

The writer and critic relationship is simple to define, but often the sides drive each other crazy. Remember as an author not to get mad at a critic. It is always best to have people talking about your work, than not talk about your work. I have read many books because critics have told me to avoid the books.

A critic operates under the incorrect notion that they know what everyone finds entertaining. All a critic has is a computer, an internet connection, and an opinion - nothing more.

A writer should never get mad at a critic, because authors provide critics with something to critique.

Remember

An author’s job is to write, and a critic’s job is to critique. If a critic could write, they would be too busy to critique.
