"These Are the Times That Try Men's Souls." --Everyone Who Loves Lindsay Lohan

Posted on at

There was a time, many of us remember so fondly, when Lindsay Lohan had the world at her feet. Yes, the world was her oyster (which she presumably kept by her feet), she had talent, she had drive, she had seemingly unlimited potential. Then 2007 happened, and, well, we all know where Lindsay is now. But the point is that Lindsay once had not only a dream, but the undeniable ability to see that dream come true. And that's what makes this so incredibly sad.

You might have missed this, but Saturday, October 3rd, was declared Mean Girls Day, thanks to the date being memorable in one of Lindsay's most classic movies, "Mean Girls" (obviously). Lindsay had a good time with the occasion on Instagram, sharing a couple of images from the movie, but she also posted this:  Check that caption, guys. Lindsay is saying -- oh, dare we even dream? -- that she is interested in doing another "Mean Girls" movie, this one titled "Mean Moms" and that she is "trying to make it happen." There are a couple of different ways to interpret that, so let's focus on the positive first, all right? Because isn't that just the sweetest news you've heard all day?! "Mean Girls" is so special to so many people, it's full of nostalgia and good times and just lots of happiness, and a sequel, a true sequel with Lindsay, would be magical.

But the negative? Lindsay is trying to do a sequel to "Mean Girls." That sounds to us like she's tried pitching the idea, or that she's at least let it be known that she's open to doing it, and no progress has been made. That would mean that we live in a world in which Lindsay Lohan can be so thoroughly and hurtfully ignored while trying to make us all happy. And that would mean that Lindsay has fallen so very, very far.

We know "fetch" is never going to happen, but if it did, this would be the opposite of it. This is contra-fetch.
