-Ear pain
-Tugging or pulling at the ear
-Difficulty sleeping
-Crying more than usual
-Acting irritable
-Difficulty hearing or responding to sounds
-Loss of balance
-Fever of 100 F or higher
-Drainage of fluid from the ear
-Headache
-Loss of appetite

Adults

-Ear pain
-Draining of fluid from the ear
-Diminished hearing

Salt Sock Method

All you need is 1 large clean sock and 2 cups of coarse sea salt. Pack the salt in the sock and tie a knot so the sock looks like a package in your hand. Place the sock on a pan over low heat and rotate for a couple of minutes to achieve moderate to the hot level of warmth.

Once the sock is warm, put it over the ear and a portion below the jaw bone. You will start to feel the pain subside. When you are finished with it, you can store it in the fridge and use it later.
